Frequently Asked Questions About HAKU’s Free Materials

Yes, you can.
Using the materials as thumbnails for monetized accounts is considered an indirect means of income for creators, so it is permitted.
(*Please note that interpretations may vary among creators. This rule does not apply universally to all materials available online.)

Examples of prohibited actions include:
Selling goods made using the distributed materials.
Selling the materials themselves.
Using the materials in thumbnails or other items distributed as return gifts during monetized streams.
Such actions are considered commercial use or redistribution and are therefore not allowed.

Sharing materials with anyone, even among friends, is considered “redistribution” and is prohibited.
While we truly appreciate your enthusiasm, I kindly ask you to share HAKU’s X account instead of the materials themselves.

This is considered “redistribution” and is prohibited.
However, materials explicitly marked as “Allowed for use as return gifts” on X posts or BOOTH are exceptions and may be given as rewards.

There is absolutely no problem with this.

It’s because HAKU loves VTubers and wants to support the community by contributing through my skills.

While most creations are original, AI-generated content is sometimes utilized.
This might include using AI to fill in missing parts of materials, enhance image quality, improve efficiency, or maintain consistency in a unique illustration style. Patterns are generated based on existing creations learned by AI, followed by manual adjustments and refinements. (From a copyright perspective, illustrations created by others are not used.)

Additionally, considering current trends in digital materials, many stock photo platforms increasingly include AI-generated content. It is practically challenging to comprehensively identify and entirely avoid such materials. Given this context, there are cases where AI-generated images may be used.
※ For materials where AI-generated content constitutes a significant portion, they are explicitly labeled as "AI-generated.(AI生成)"

While it’s hard to define what constitutes "excessive," please avoid modifications so extreme that the original form is unrecognizable, as this could genuinely hurt HAKU’s feelings...really.

We live in the age of social media, especially for streamers whose actions can easily spread online. For content creators in particular, recognition is a key part of their business, making their work highly shareable but also exposing them to risks of backlash over minor issues. Please handle materials with care. To maintain your reputation and dignity, always adhere to the guidelines and conduct your activities ethically and responsibly.

If unauthorized use becomes widespread, we may consider switching all materials to paid distribution.
If you discover any violations, please let HAKU know on the down-low :D

For questions like “Would this count as commercial use?” or “Is this allowed under the terms?”, feel free to ask anonymously via the “Throw Us a Marshmallow” platform, or contact us directly through the “Contact Form.”
Haku can respond in either Japanese or English.
